Local life on your doorstep
Several tavernas and restaurants, including some of our family’s favourites, are within a short walk of anémelie. Supermarkets for everyday essentials are also close by.
Paralimni is a five-minute drive away and offers a broader range of shops. Sotira also has a rich Byzantine heritage, with historic churches and a small ecclesiastical museum.
Ayia Napa, close at hand
Ayia Napa is best known for its beaches and nightlife, but there is much more to explore, from the medieval monastery and fishing harbour to museums, an underwater sculpture museum, boat trips and other attractions. After dark, bars, music and entertainment give the town the lively atmosphere for which it is famous.
Golden beaches, minutes away
A wide choice of Ayia Napa’s golden-sand beaches is within a 15-minute drive of anémelie, with clear water and plenty of variety along the coast. Among them, Nissi Beach brings the energy and vibe for which Ayia Napa is famous; Makronissos is a firm favourite with the anémelie family; Landa’s shallow bay is especially well suited to families with young children; and Ayia Tekla offers an easy-going setting beside the marina.

Beyond Ayia Napa, Cape Greco National Forest Park offers coastal trails, sea caves and sweeping Mediterranean views. On Cyprus’s east coast beyond Cape Greco, Protaras is around an 18-minute drive from anémelie and offers another popular beach resort to explore. WaterWorld Waterpark is ten minutes away, while the Famagusta ghost town viewpoint in Deryneia offers binocular views towards the town and its abandoned beachfront, alongside a small photographic exhibition relating to the events of 1974.
Getting around
A car offers the greatest flexibility for exploring the area. Taxis and minibuses are available for airport transfers, local transport and day excursions. Local buses also serve the area.
